It seems a lot of folks are more than happy to close the book on 2017. Personal challenges, the political mood and social/economic tensions all took a toll across the year. The good news is that the number seven in scripture, as I understand it, reflects “an ending” while the number eight represents a “new beginning” – so bring on 2018!

May 2018 indeed be a year of “new beginnings” and may it begin with dads resolving to lead the way as faithful fathers. Prayer guide: Lord, thank You for the many gifts and blessings in my life, may I never take them for granted. Thank You for the opportunity to reflect Your triune nature as a faithful father – to be present physically, engaged emotionally and lead spiritually. Strengthen me to accept responsibility for the opportunity You offer as I resolve to be a faithful father – to be the father You call me to be, the father my family needs. Amen.
