Thanksgiving always carries a special significance for Faithful Fathering as we give thanks to our Lord for you and the opportunities granted through your support over this past year, our seventeenth year to encourage and equip dads to be faithful fathers. Please read on for a snapshot of where FF has been, where the Lord has us and where we feel He is leading us:
Past: The first ten-plus years of ministry, Faithful Fathering worked to fill a void that existed in most churches – inadequate resourcing and training of dads. Events were held. Many workshops and studies were conducted. In 2010 we were convicted to make a shift from doing events and workshops to building relationships and engaging leadership that would serve as a catalyst for fathering in the Church and beyond.
Present: The last seven years, we have piloted a strategy and established core groups of dads in churches – Eight to ten dads make up a core group that takes the lead to reinvigorate their church on the fathering front by implementing Faithful Fathering’s PASS the BATON strategy. One church provided powerful insight on how their core group is doing just that in a letter to Faithful Fathering, “You have called us into spiritual focus grounded in relationship – not only with our children but with our own fathers, with each other, and most importantly with Jesus. We have made great memories through the successful events you have helped us plan, which have created a positive and enthusiastic buzz in our church.”
Future: We are working to help create that “positive and enthusiastic buzz” around fathering in every church across the country and utilize the PASS the BATON strategy as the tool for the job! In this next year, Faithful Fathering will work to double the number of churches with core groups in the Houston area to 30 by developing a Point Faithful Father to complement Rick’s efforts. By 2020, the vision is to have multiple Point Faithful Fathers carrying the BATON forward in cities across the state and beyond. Faithful Fathering is walking forward in the spirit of Elijah to “turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers” (Malachi 4:6) to heal our nation of many societal woes.
For this future, the Board of Directors has approved a 40% budget increase this fiscal year and anticipates similar increases the next two years. Faithful Fathering’s commitment from its founding as a mission for dads in the Church has been to never say no to a church or charge for services. The ministry relies on individual giving for approximately 65% of the operating budget.
Faithful Fathering humbly asks for your continued support through the next leg of the journey.

“For every animal of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.” – Psalm 50:10. The Lord, in His abundance always provides. We trust He will sell enough cattle to do what He wants to do through Faithful Fathering.
Prayer guide: Thank You Lord for the way You have encouraged and equipped me on this journey as a dad to become a faithful father. Direct my efforts to create a positive and enthusiastic buzz around fathering in my church and other circles of influence. All by Your grace and for Your glory. Amen.
A faithful father creates a positive and enthusiastic buzz around fathering in his circles.
