What is ‘Dad Enough’? Is being a faithful father – a dad that prioritizes his physical presence, is engaged emotionally and leads spiritually by example, ‘Dad Enough’? Is it about making all the kids’ events you can, dating your daughter and loving their mother? If you have a great relationship with your grown children, have you been ‘Dad Enough’?

Fathering is a journey. The end result is unknown but the markers along the way are impactful in the shaping of a young man or young woman. Faithful Fathering is issuing a challenge for the journey, the DadsHeroChallenge – Over the next five weeks, you will be encouraged and equipped to become a hero in your children’s eyes. Every child needs a hero and who better to be that hero than Dad. Click HERE to become that hero.

“Go and tell My brothers that I have not yet returned to My Father and your Father. To My God and your God.” – John 20:17. This statement from Jesus is reinforced with Paul’s admonishment in Romans 8:15, “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves again to fear; rather, you received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’” As adopted sons of the Most High God, the charge is to mature into faithful fathers and raise godly offspring (Malachi 2:15). The call is not to be a perfect dad or even a successful one, but a dad that is faithful on the journey. That requires intentionality, study and a group of dads I call battle buddies.

One important thing to know is that your best efforts to be available and approachable for your kids through the ups and downs of life have a powerful impact but will still fall short of being enough, and that is okay. The Heavenly Father is the only One that is ‘Dad Enough’ for each generation. The most important role every earthly father has is to point the way to the Heavenly Father.

Prayer guide: Thank You Lord for Your word and for being my Father. I embraced a false sense of security for years as an over-comer dad and provider for my family. Forgive me. Help me become a faithful father as I accept the DadsHeroChallenge. Please open the door to a couple of other dads that will join me for this study and hold me accountable to become the dad You expect me to be, the dad my kids need to see. Amen.

A faithful father accepts the DadsHeroChallenge for the sake of the next generation.

Dad enough! Oh my, how I wish you & your ministry would have been there when I was young. This is so vital!

Thank you Rick. You are not in the media spotlight but should be (in terms of importance) with the impact, that you and I both know, that fathers and dual-parent homes have on the next generation. Keep up the good work.
